Cellulite

Not only during spring and summer months, we are focusing on how to treat (or remove) cellulite. Women hate it, men do not like it… More and more clinics are being involved in research of regenerative processes and offer rejuvenating procedures, which promise the removal (or at least reduction) of cellulite.

Cellulite in our case (also known as “orange peel“) affects women most often on the thighs and buttocks. The cause of its formation are still subject of technical discussions – most specialists are inclined to believe that it is a combination of several factors such as genetic predisposition, hormonal imbalance, impaired formation of collagen, impaired functioning of the lymphatic system, in many cases the whole situation is worsened by the use of contraception, too.

Most of people with cellulite don’t even care about the origin of the problem, just about ways to get rid of it. Despite the growing number of available (commercially used) methods, the situation is not improving. Effective solutions (if we can talk about effective at all) involve changing the thinking and attitude. Cellulite is now generally considered a disease of civilization, which is very difficult to solve effectively – let’s focus on the word “solve” for a moment. If we accept the fact that there is no foolproof method (or complex individual procedure) that would have definitively resolved the situation, we need to replace the word “solve” with “prevent”.

It is now known that a properly designed diet (limiting consumption of white bread, fat meats, sweets, alcohol, …), use of appropriate supplements (omega-3 fats, antioxidants, L-carnitine), plenty of physical activity, smoking reduction, regular massages (including lymph), maintaining an optimal body weight, adequate drinking regime – all these factors effectively prevent the development of cellulite. Yes – it looks quite simple, but when it comes to actually starting to regularly applying this advice in everyday life, we usually run into a problem called…

Human laziness and comfort – not everyone will be willing to take these significant changes in the way of life. Perhaps because the desire to improve ourselves is often being outweighted by the potential pain of the changes that we have to make for this.
